Mission: to introduce to the international cinema community (press, producers, distributors, financiers, sales agents, talent, festival program directors) the projects which represent different trends in the new Russian cinema. The major selection criteria – films of young Russian directors representing art value and expressing the tendencies of the Russian cinema development.

14.00 – 17.30 FILM PRODUCTION MEETINGS
Co-production and Shooting in Russia

This event will attract those who have considered either shooting in Russia or collaborating with Russian movie companies on a co-production. Representatives of the Department of Cinematography at the Ministry of Culture of Russia will give a separate presentation: they will speak about co-production opportunities in Russia and movie production conditions there. The RFilms company, whose primary field of operation is the development of co-production in Russia, and the promotion of the Russian regions as shooting locations, together with Sovexportfilm, will present its event, which consists of a number of intriguing elements. The first will be a presentation of the new web resource Shoot It in Russia (www.filminrussia.com). Detailed information about Russian locations, the state of the infrastructure and production capacity is currently being added to this site.

A further element will be a case study of a Russian-Swedish co-production, the movie Newsmakers, from the company Cinema Without Frontiers, which was shot on location in one of Moscow's residential districts. The presentation by the Moscow Co-Production Forum, which will be held this June in Moscow, under the auspices of the Moscow international Film Festival, will comprise a description of ten movie projects and three literary works.

Presentation of co-production opportunities in Russia and shooting inside the country. Presentation of the web-based information resource Shoot It in Russia, which is a detailed database about shooting opportunities in all the Russian regions. This presentation has been prepared by the Department of Cinematography at the Russian Ministry of Culture.
14:50 – 15:10 Case-study: How they made Newsmakers
The producers of the Russian-Swedish project Newsmakers (dir. Anders Banke) Sam Klebanov and Anna Katchko will describe in detail their experience of co-production and collaboration with the Swedish movie companies Film i Väst and Illusion Film & Television.
15:10 – 15:40 Moscow Сo-production Forum in Cannes
Books and movies

As part of a presentation of the Literary Rights Market, which will be held in Moscow this June at the Moscow Co-production Forum, three books will be presented which the rights holders claim are perfect for movie versions on account of their literary qualities, popularity with the readers, and potential for adaptation. The Siege Novel. To Dream and To Believe by Andrei Turgenev, Home by Oksana Butuzova, and Valerochka by Irina Denezhkina.
