From 12 till 23 May 2010 the Russian Pavilion will be opened in the International Village in the framework of the 63d Cannes International Film Festival.

The Russian Pavilion aimed to be the official information center on Russian Cinema for press and foreign cinema professionals. It officially represents Russia in the framework of the Cannes International Film Festival and the Film Market. It is a universal platform that contributes to promotion of the Russian cinema as well as to establishment of fruitful contacts and effective professional communication. The aim of the national pavilion is to promote the Russian film industry on the international market.

The Russian pavilion helps international film producers, distributors and press to establish contacts with representatives of The Russian film industry (institutions, professional organizations, producers, distributor companies), to obtain official information about opportunities concerning coproduction with Russia, participation in Russian festivals, distribution of Russian films abroad.

The year of 2010 is declared the year of France in Russia and Russia in France, its aim being to continue the centuries-old history of cultural relations between our countries. The Russian pavilion contributes to development of such a cooperation in the framework of the 63d Cannes International Film Festival.

The year of 2010 is a jubilee not only for Russia. The whole world is celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War. A lot of films had been made this year which deal in this or that way with the war theme. The best of them, made in Russia over the year, will be presented in the Pavilion during the presentation sessions.
