Cannes, 19th May 2014: At a press conference hosted by Roskino and Renovatio Entertainment yesterday, Glacier Films presented footage from three of the four projects currently in development to audiences at the 67th Cannes Film Festival. With an 11-strong slate which includes AMERICAN HEIST, COOTIES, BATHORY and THE TANK, Adrien Brody and music producer Akon discussed developments to the projects since the companies launch in Cannes last year.

Vladimir Polyakov, Producer, Glacier Films said: ‘After an amazing first year of the company, we’re ecstatic to show audiences the progress that has been made on our first four titles, including footage from AMERICAN HEIST, COOTIES and LADY BALTHORY. With such standout names as Adrien Brody, Elijah Wood, Hayden Christensen and Stephen Schneider, we’re confident these projects will secure international distribution starting this year through next.’

Katya Mtsitouridze, ROSKINO CEO ‘The focus for ROSKINO is to bring international awareness to Russian cinema, and so we are excited to be able to host Glacier Films at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and be a part of this exciting collaboration with established and upcoming talent”

AMERICAN HEIST, a remake of Steve McQueen's St. Louis Bank Robbery, has now completed production, starring Hayden Christensen (STARS WARS) and Adrien Brody (THE PIANIST), the film is directed by Sarik Andreasyan and follows two troubled brothers who get tangled up in a doomed bank heist.

Zombie-horror comedy COOTIES, the second project to have completed production, will also be introduced and stars Elijah Wood (LORD OF THE RINGS), Alison Pill (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS), Rainn Wilson (JUNO), Jack McBrayer (30 ROCK) and Jorge Garcia (LOST). Written by Leigh Whannell (INSIDIOUS) and Ian Brennan (GLEE) and directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion, the story follows a zombie-like epidemic originating from an infected chicken nugget that turns elementary school students into rampaging savages.

BATHORY, directed by Andrei Konst, follows the murderous doings of Hungary’s Elizabeth Bathory, the sadistic 16th century “Blood Countess” remembered as history’s most prolific female serial killer. Starring Svetlana Khodchenkova (THE WOLVERINE), Isabelle Allen (LES MISERABLES), Lucas Bond and Pavel Derevyanko.

During the conference Glacier films also discussed the next film to be developed; THE TANK, with the rights recently acquired by Open Road at the Berlin Film Festival. Directed by Kellie Madison, the film revolves around six people entering an isolation tank designed to simulate the lengthy trip to Mars.
